Glen Fleet Visitor Book 2008;
It was our first time in Scotland and it was marvellous!
We enjoyed bird watching, the different views and landscapes.
Glen Fleet was a good place to start early in the morning and come back late in the evening.
We took lots of pictures and drove lots of kilometres to John O’Groats, Handa Island, Falls of Shin, Inverness. Everything was great! Hope we can come sometime!
It was our first visit to Scotland and we were not disappointed. Stunning scenery, lochs, mountains & coastline. Fantastic castles and manor houses & gardens. Don’t miss the eagles, falcons and owls at Dunrobin. A walk on Culloden Moor is a good time to reflect also.
Glen Lodge is a great place to come back to in the PM. Clean, tidy and very well equipped.
Lovely weather and not a spot of rain. We would return and recommend the area to friends. Ted, Kaye & Hannah, Australia
Well worth the long drive up from the most easterly point, Lowestoft.
Plenty of wildlife, including a barn owl, all seen from your sitting room...
Had lovely weather and accommodation was excellent - 10 days have flown past.
Well worth the visit - We saw the eagle and barn owl from this lounge and much more wildlife in the evenings. Many places to visit close. Would come back again; Very comfortable: Well equipped.
Perfectly secluded and peaceful - Just what we wanted.
Fox, deer and buzzards in the field, Village pub good for food. Falls of Shin worth a visit (free!)
Road around estuary to Embo very picturesque and plenty of wildlife at low tide (lots of seals).
Accommodation has been very good - we would like to come back...
Despite our anxiety regarding the climb up we were certainly rewarded once we reached the Lodge.
Its situation is perfect. Morning sunrise spectacular. We were looking forward to a peaceful fortnight - and it sure was! Inchcape was ideal as a centre to explore the many hill routes.
Excellent views, accommodation excellent - everything you need. Lots of good walks.
Lots of different birds to see. Eating out has been good - Would recommend the fish and chips in Golspie and the Inn in the village.
Fantastic views - watching the chaffinches at the bird feeder was very entertaining, as well as seeing the pheasant each morning by the tree in the garden.
The view down the valley is superb - saw buzzards in the air and rabbits on the ground.
Highly recommend the falls of Shin - watching the salmon leaping up the falls was a fascinating first.
The walk at Raven’s Rock Gorge near Rosehall is breathtaking (though quite steep in places) and the forest walk at Rosehall gave us one of the highlights of our week - seeing a Roe deer at close quarters for about 10 minutes on the path in front of us.
The beach at Dornoch was also a real treat - the falconry display was fascinating, informative and entertaining, all at the same time.
As you can probably tell, we had a wonderful week!
Glen Oykel Visitor Book 2008;
After a long journey up here, it was well worth it.
The Lodge is so comfortable and the peace and quiet wonderful.
Plenty of places to visit, lovely walks and Dornoch beach is breathtaking.
Fascinating to see the seals on the beach road.
We’ve recharged our batteries and are sad to go home.
Relaxing holiday, great views.
We have had a relaxing holiday in a lovely, cosy cottage -
There is so much to see and do in the area.
We enjoyed the falls of Shin - lots of salmon to see! The beach at Embo is lovely.
There are lots of great forest walks - particularly enjoyed Ravens Rock Gorge.
Great chips at Golspie, Chinese is good too. Enjoyed a meal at Pittentrail Inn.
The views from the cottage are spectacular and there is so much wildlife to be seen.
My second stay after the first 4-5 years agoi. Then I stayed a week in August in Glen Fleet.
I’ve just had a 3 day break in the Orkney Islands and remembered the Lodges so booked a short stay for a break on my return journey home.
Again, I’ve been impressed by the high standard of the Lodge and stunning views from the patio window. During my short stay I’ve re-visited some of the sites that I’ve been too before and today - my last day have spent the morning at the Falls of Shin (saw 2 salmon leaping) and had a good forest walk... As a treat we went to Dornoch and headed for the beach - the sea was warm! (wish I’d brought my trunks now!!)
The weather for Orkney and my stay in the Highlands has been fantastic. I only managed to explore Orkney mainland so I can see another visit coming up to do some Island hopping -
If I do then I’ll certainly look to book a break either on the way up or back in one of the Lodges.
We loved our little cottage upon the hills and rabbits.
When we were cold we turned on the fire and got warm.
We all listened to all the pheasants at night...
We are all pleased we came - the place, beds and sofas were very comfortable.
Peace! Joy! I hope you find it too.
“Falls of Shin” worth a visit; “Ben Bhraggie” for excellent views and history.
“Raven’s Rock” for a little magic! We’ve left “on line” reviews and maps in the bookcase.
A beautiful Lodge in a beautiful setting - Enjoy.
Glen Fleet Visitor Book 2007;
What a delight it is to wake to enjoy the glorious view down Strath Fleet and to appreciate the silence.
Lovely views, lovely people. Peace/quiet. A different pace and style of life.
Some very nice local walks on the doorstep worth looking for and seeking out.
Fabulous time - Have seen foxes, buzzards, goats, all kinds of wild birds, etc.
Watched the clouds through the valley at 4am - well worth looking out for.
Will be back -
Have really enjoyed staying here in such a nice lodge that is clean and cosy.
Splendid views to wake up to and come back to if we have been out all day; Sunrise in the mornings is a joy to see.
Dornoch Beach is lovely to go down to - Fort George is a brilliant place to visit -
Dunrobin Castle was excellent with their resident Falconer. We actually saw some Dolphins on the Black Isle which was an added bonus. Will really miss the views.
Bellissimo Experiento: Un posto magica fu geutite il “silentio assortdante” chi queste splendide terre!
We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay here - It was worth the drive!
The views and the peace here at the Lodge are very special. We have appreciated all of the facilities.
A visit to the Falls of Shin to see the salmon is a must. Look in the hills for deer and eagles.
We’ve seen dolphins at Chanonry Point - best place! Seals at Brora - lots on the rocks right from Harbour!
The most relaxing holiday break ever - just wish we were here longer.
Have never seen such beautiful views and scenery. Would love to to stay for a week next time round.
The Lodge was fantastic - it had everything you would ever need. It was so well equipped, clean and very comfortable.
Just about everything was perfect.
We wanted a couple of days peace and quiet and we could not have picked a better place.
The Lodge was great and we can recommend just driving around; What breathtaking scenery.
Had a ride to John O’Groats - well worth the long drive.
We certainly hope to come back.
Glen Oykel Visitor Book 2007;
Peaceful and comfortable. Home from home.
The Lodge was much more than we expected - we lacked for nothing and felt at home.
The views from the Lodge are wonderful and we were rewarded on our last evening with a sighting of two golden eagles near the Lodge. We watched them for several minutes.
This was our first visit but won’t be our last.
We have had a very comfortable week. This Lodge has everything you could need. We can’t stop looking at the view!
We enjoyed all the comforts of the Lodge with such a cosy and relaxing atmosphere. THANK YOU.
Have spotted eagle over the road from Rogart leading to St.Callan’s Church.
Also seem to be two buzzards residing in woods to the right as you look from the lounge window.
One actually took a polecat/weasel in its claws near the Lodge, scattering all the other birds in its path.
Seals a plenty on 12-mile Golspie/Brora walk (reward is fish & chips in Golspie on return!).
Curlew, heron and more seals at Loch Fleet. Dornoch excellent.
Lodge so peaceful & quiet, a real break. Hope all enjoy as we have.
Lodge very comfortable and well equipped. Superb views and peace and quiet.
Ideal location for touring.
Visited John O’Groats and the Castle of Mey in Caithness, Falls of Shin in Lairg, Dornoch Cathedral and Beach,, Clynelish Distillery in Brora, Golspie - Loch Shin - Laxford Bridge - Durness; what a run! Would definitely visit again. Many thanks

Enjoyed watching the birds and had a visit one evening from a deer, just the other side of the fence.
